Q For MGR #1 (means of grace), make sure that you have first done the assigned readings, which includes Jung's chapter plus one reading on Silence and Solitude. After reading these chapters, view the corresponding video in the daily schedule. (You may already have done these on the day you studied Silence & Solitude.) Now, you will be ready to practice Silence and Solitude... Practicing Silence & Solitude: In a world that has grown accustomed to constant external and internal noise, it can be challenging to be intentional about being quiet before God. For this means of grace, spend 3 hours in Silence and Solitude. The first hour is typically the more difficult. Press through that prayerfully, as the hope is when we spend extended times with God, we will grow more familiar with his voice and more comfortable with the shorter windows of time we can seize to be with him during our day. Turn in a 1-page reflection: After reading, watching the video, and practicing Silence & Solitude, write and submit a one-page reflection chronicling your experience. Remember to identify Jung's chapter and the one additional author you read at the top of your paper.

The first hour I spent in silence had been extremely difficult for me to concentrate. This is because I had been getting bad and evil thoughts in my mind. I had been getting tempted to remember some of my past sins. I had been feeling guilty of offending God and putting Jesus Christ on the Cross repetitively because of my sins. I had been getting evil thoughts to do something morally and ethically wrong. However, I tried controlling my mind gradually. As I had been trying to control my mind and my thoughts, I realize that the voice of the evil one had been constantly disturbing me.
